The Hardness Of Induction Hardened Bar

 The process of induction hardened bar can enhance the mechanical properties of ferrous and alloy components in a specific part. Typically, the material of doing induction hardening includes CK45, 20MnV6, 4140 and 4340. First, the piston rod will be put into a copper coil, and it’s heated by alternating current. Then, the outer surface of the cylinder piston rod will be heated to a temperature above the transformation range. After that, the piston rod will be tempered immediately to adjust the hardness level. 

The final surface hardness of the induction hardened rod will be HRC 55° ± 2°.The chrome layer hardness is 850 HV0.1. The surface hardness in the induction hardened zone immediately beneath the chrome layer is 55 HRC min. The depth of hardening is between 1.0 and 3.0 mm depending on dimension.
